Schiphol Layover | Day Trip to The Hague during a Stopover
Long Layover at Schiphol? Visit The Hague — 30 Minutes by Train.
Long layover at Schiphol and don't want to spend hours at the airport? The Hague is just 30 minutes by train. Eat, explore, and enjoy — and leave your luggage in a locker at Schiphol.
Turn Your Schiphol Layover into a Mini-Holiday
Got a layover of 6 hours or more? Instead of waiting at the gate, you can visit a city in that time. The Hague is the fastest and most interesting option from Schiphol — and 't Goude Hooft is your base.
How Does It Work?
- Luggage: Store your bags in the Schiphol Luggage Lockers (Schiphol Plaza, after customs/passport control before departure, or in the arrivals hall). 24-hour lockers available.

- Walk: Den Haag Centraal → 't Goude Hooft: 10 minutes through the city centre.
- Enjoy: Lunch, dinner, or just a drink. Plus explore the city.
- Return: Same route. Plan 1.5 hours before boarding for the return trip.
